I have been to this location several times, although my review references my most recent visit tonight (have not been here for quite some time). My fiance ordered the tortellini and I ordered a large Margherita pizza. Both were exquisite. The only complaint that I have was my cocktail- I ordered their new pineapple mojito. It was an interesting drink...let's just say that the bartender was quite generous with the rum. If it hadn't been as strong, perhaps I would have enjoyed it a bit more. All in all, a good visit with an attentive server and great food.

Why is this such a successful place???????? Pros: * substantial dinner salad with a nice assortment of veggies * excellent house red wine * excellent service Cons: * Almost everything in this place comes with meat, no pasta primavera, no marinara. One dish for a vegetarian (baked eggplant), nothing for a vegan. * I had the baked eggplant with no cheese which was just eh, but worse . .. * It came with a side of spaghetti with the most ho-hum spaghetti sauce I've had in a long time. I always judge an Italian restaurant by its spaghetti sauce, and this place is a looser. Did this liquid-y stuff come out of a can? * Some people like the little hard white dough balls that come with a plate of olive oil. White bread and olive oil? Argh! Let's get stopped up why don't we? Very unhealthy. --- So back to my original question, i.e. why the heck does this place draw a crowd?

The customer service is great, the staff there is wonderful. When I am in town it a MUST for me to eat here. Then the hot rolls w/ oil and spice (guilty pleasure), then the appetizers are seasoned just right and a must have! ( brick oven wings, meatballs, artichoke and spinach deep w/ freshly fried pita chips, ceaser salad...I could keep going but you gotta try them yourself! Then the entrees...no joke...we haven't had a bad choice yet. Then I found my favorite pizza- THEE Bertucci's Silano Pizza...I didn't want a red sauce so the waitresses suggested this-it was the best suggestion ever and she knew the menu and she was listening. I thought it was a little plain (1st order) so added shrimp and raw onions to it... (3th order) I added Shrimp, Caramelized Onions and Spinach and it was soooo good. I think we inhaled our slices and packed the rest for dinner/lunch. ..who knows midnight snack. This is a great first date, family, couples. .everyone- its welcoming. The brick oven is EVERYTHING, please don't change a thing! They have carry out too but eating in is sooo worth it! Don't miss out the atmosphere- its wonderful

I got some sort of flatbread when I went, and it was bland. Another chain Italian place.

Maybe it's just this location, but yikes! The service was decent...when it came around, that is. The salad wasn't very fresh and the summer shandy I ordered was skunk (completely flat and disgusting tasting). The personal pizza I ordered left a less than impressive impression, as well. Just an all around disappointment. Not coming back here, that's for sure. I'll stick to the one in Whitemarsh.

I took my daughters out for a quick dinner date and our evening was ok... The pizza was ok. I ordered the lobster Cobb salad and it should have been ok. The dressing that is served with the salad, a lemon thyme (I think) vinaigrette doesn't quite fit the salad . I asked for blue cheese to replace it. I'm glad that I asked for the dressing on the side. I don't eat pork bacon so I didn't have that on the Cobb salad and I think that was the salty taste that was missing. I guess all these things were just personal preference but the only try complaint that I had about our meal is that the red onion that was served on the salad was not fresh at all. They seemed pickled almost. And though I should have said something , I didn't. I just picked them out. But our waitress was friendly and did a good job. It was a so so meal. Nothing to rave over and nothing major to complain about either.

Good pizza that's about it customer service and wait times are insane over 40 minutes for a take out pizza on a Friday night !!

If you order online, you first order comes with $10 off We ordered two pizzas and a salad It came out to $12 I thought that was cool The food: The pizza was good It seemed to be healthy even though it was on the white dough The pepperoni and cheese were both great I didn't care much for salad at the time but my companions said it was good The service: Good When we arrived they had everything ready They just had to go to the back to get the salad The only thing I was kinda let down by was they didn't provide or even ask if we needed -plates -napkins -crushed peppers Not a biggie though, the food was yummy

Waitress great Lexi rocks. Had a half an hour for lunch and she made it happen with apps wine salad and a meal. Food was hotter than hell but good Now can someone clean please. I would have given five stars if the dust wasn't inches thick on lights and chairs

Delicious!!! The bread rolls with oil were very good, although I wish I had tried the garlic knots. We split the baked tortellini and a silano pizza. Both were so tasty! The sauce on the tortellini was so creamy and rich. And the lemon accent on the pizza really made it perfection!

typically this place is decent but seems to be on the decline. From service to food quality. They still offer the Bertucci's staples but new items are a real miss. I tried their featured shrimp and lobster risotto and it was very much sub par. No creaminess or smoothness, just tasted like rice with some frozen shrimp thrown in. What lobster was in the dish was hacked to pieces. Not what you expect for an $18 bowl of risotto. The night we were there 3/6/15 a Friday night, they were under staffed and therefore left empty tables with a large line of people. I was very suprised. I cut them some slack with slow service bc of that fact but someone really dropped the ball. I hope this place bounces back to the fun family friendly place it was when I was a kid.

We hosted a baby shower for a family member in March and it was great. We had an amazing experience. Monica was our waitress and she was very nice, patient and never seemed overwhelmed or displeased. There was another waitress that was not so pleasant, I do not remember her name but she complained about having to possibly pick up some confeti by hand right in front of the PAYING customer. We tried to clean up best we could before we left. If it wasn't for Monica's great customer service I don't think I would've been back. Thank you all!

What a fun family outing! After Post-Thanksgiving-Eating-Syndrome, we decided to eat out on Saturday night. Bertucci's was a great idea, as our family includes kids, adults, vegetarians, and carnivores. For a party of 12 (or any size) Bertucci's will not accept a reservation, but they will accept a call-ahead. This means that you are providing the restaurant with the time of your expected arrival and number of guests. They, however, are not guaranteed to have a table waiting for you. Well, we got lucky. Upon arrival, there was a table for 12 ready for us, with a high chair, 4 kids crayons and coloring sheets, and 8 adult menus :). We had a great server who was incredibly attentive. I had the lobster ravioli with large chunks of lobster tail, and it was divine! I was fortunate enough to have leftovers to eat again later. Unfortunately, Hubby got the chicken marsala, cooked with asparagus and potatoes. He was less thrilled about his dish than I was. He said the potatoes were tasteless and the chicken was a bit chewier than it should have been. Barring all of that, we had a great experience with an extremely attentive waitress, which helped the experience. My last two thoughts on this subject are that you must order the cookie with ice cream and hte tiramisu. I would go back to Bertucci's for these two things alone.

Ok Bertucci Where is the minus zero stars?! Let's start off with all the youngins playing and having a good time when are suppose to be seating ppl. I should have known something was wrong when 2 families walked out while waiting to be seated. After being seated there were no silverware on the table. The waitress who waited on us basically didn't have a clue or knowledge of the menu. She got smart when we asked for a pizza and gave us this look like ok DUH you want a pizza but what kind YOU DUMMY LOOK. You talk about holding in what you want to say when it needs to be said WHEWWWW !!!! Ok so this salad came out and it looked like it was just sitting back there in the freezer. Ok sooo the salad look terrible but guess what... the brilliant waitress asked if we was ok and NOOOOO SILVERWARE DUMMY. How can I eat this salad..... I think that says enough. Oh and the oil she brought out for the bread to be dipped in, she spilled it, took the napkin that she wiped it up with and wiped her forehead with it! It's like, she was on something. Look, I'm not making this up, this was my first time here and it will be the last time I come to this one.

Love the food here. Rolls are to die for. Carry-out times are long and inconvenient. A 45 minute wait for carry out is ridiculous.

I live in south Phila...I know Italian. The froccacia Italian sandwich was unbelievably good...froccacia crisp and toasty...aoile tasty...meats good...I could eat these all day! Sausage soup and salad are good...but the Francisco's delecto Italian was exceptional

I often coordinate work luncheons for the great group of folks I work with on Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG) in Edgewood, Maryland. As Department of the Army employees, we are always appreciative and a bit saddened when one of our Soldiers receives orders to leave our installation and we get together for a final farewell. We did just that and had a great luncheon at your Bel Air location a few months back with approximately 50-60 guests, and we were able to present the Sergeant First Class with awards and gifts as he was leaving APG. The food, service, and costs were great and we were in and out under two hours. We were able to honor a Soldier and had a nice time. The private dining area was not available for our group and the manager accommodated us by setting up tables in the back half of the dining room, which is somewhat separated from the rest with a half wall partition and booths. It was perfect. I called the Bel Air location this morning in hopes of setting up another farewell luncheon. I was told the private area was booked and that the manager, Michael, said we could not use the main dining room because they received complaints from a few other customers last time we were there over the noise of presenting gifts/awards and the clapping. To reiterate, Michael turned us away because of a few other tables complaining that 50 guests were clapping for a Soldier in the United States Army. This particular Soldier has been deployed numerous times to Iraq and Afghanistan, fighting for our country, while spending copious amounts of time away from his little girl. We are angry, frustrated, and mostly hurt that we as a large group of (former) patrons of your restaurant were turned away because of complaints received while honoring a Soldier. This is inexcusable and should be addressed with your Bel Air management ASAP. We are proud of our men and women in uniform and will be sure to make all future arrangements for luncheons at establishments that share our gratitude.

My husband, 2 year old and I walked right in on a Saturday night around 7:30 (Maybe I should have taken a clue?). They have pizza dough "play-doh" which was really cute. My daughter had spaghetti & meatballs which was terrible, my husband had the jambalaya which had some funny spices but wasn't horrible, and I had the lobster and shrimp risotto. Everything was edible but just not great. The best thing about the visit was the free rolls! The waitress and hostesses were really nice also. For $60 with no alcohol, I would spend my money somewhere else.

Try the Delicato Italian for lunch. Great value for $8 with unli salad and freshly baked rolls. And it comes a cup of soup. Get the sausage :-)

My family & I eat at this location quite often - at least once per week. We and much of he staff easily recognize one another and we comfortably know a handful of them. There have only been 2 occassions in which our experience has been less than what we are used to getting. Both of those instances were when large parties were going on and the dining room was filled. We have been customers for over 6 years, so I will give 5 stars because those two occassions do not give enough weight nor do they accurately represent a typical visit. The consistency of service and food has always been dependable, which in itself has been the biggest reason we frequent Bertuccis so often. It's a reliable place to go for a nice sit-down dinner for a reasonable price. Our typical dinner is either the Margherita Pizza or pasta dishes. The food is always hot and fresh. We enjoy being able to watch the kitchen and to see how involved management is with getting orders out. The atmosphere is relaxed and can be loud on weekends, but it's a place we've grown to enjoy and look forward to!

I went to Bertucci's for lunch today and it was my first and last time. My boyfriend and I were extra hungry so we decided to order off the dinner menu. The dinner portion for pasta was pretty pathetic. We thought there was a mistake so we asked the manager and they explained that the lunch portion was about HALF of that! My chicken fettuccine alfredo was extremely bland, just tasted like dry buttered noodles. The only redeeming quality for this restaurant was its nice ambiance and lighting.

A friend of mine and myself were out shopping one day and started to get pretty hungry. We didn't want fast food so he suggested Bertucci's. We got there and got seated. The waitress was great she got our drink order right away! We were ready to order, I got the lobster ravioli and my friend got the antipasto. The food come out everything looked great. The antipasto my friend ordered was great! I really liked the artichoke. Unfortunately, when I took a bite of my lobster it was rubbery. It was a high priced dish so I mentioned this to the waitress and she was very apologetic and went to her manager right away! I ate all of the ravioli, that was great but not the lobster. The manager came to the table apologized and took the meal off my bill, I was very shocked since I had eaten most of the dish. We finished up and were on our way out I saw the manager and thanked him for being so kind and professional. He thanked us for coming and then handed both of us a 5 dollar off voucher for the next time we came. He said, "give us another try sometime!". I will do an update next time I go. Would have been three stars but the service was so good it made up for it. Great service is highly appreciated by me! My friend and I left Bertucci's smiling. I also want to mention our waitress was WONDERFUL, great experience!

Nasty food. Soggy undercooked pizzas. Salads with too much dressing. All entrees are a mess. Manager over micromanages kitchen and spoils the food.

Comparing this restaurant to other "Italian style" restaurants makes me support it. Comparing it to other restaurants overall makes me feel more iffy. Maybe it was our waiter but our experience was solid. He made a specialty drink for me even though it was not listed on the menu. Also, appetizer-wise we were satisfied with the butternut squash with caramelized walnuts.

My fiancé and I have eaten here three times now with consistently bad food and terrible service each and every time. This is not even worthy of one star. It is unbelievable to us that they are still in business. Last night there was a total of seven tables at the restuarant with our waitress taking care of us and one other table. She took ten minutes to get our drink orders, then when my fiancé needed a refill she took twenty forgetting completely about us. The icing on the cake is when she gave us our check and never came back to get our credit card. Thank god we had enough cash to cover the check or else who knows how long we would have had to wait. Like I said before this wasn't the first time for terrible service, as well as unbelievably bad food. Don't waste your time or money... I know we won't.

Stopped by with the family after a local rec football game. It was raining and we were all wet and cold. There were 8 of us and we were seated right away. The waitress took our drink orders and waited for us to decide what food to order. They served nice warm rolls right away and they were devoured quickly and more were brought out for us when asked. There was also a nice dipping sauce of olive oil and spices. There is no Wifi there and one member of our party was a little upset about that as everyone was using their smart phones to check out their fantasy picks and matches for football. We ordered two large classic brick oven pizzas. Just a tomato and cheese and a shrimp bella venezia. They were brought out in a timely manner and put at the front of the table so we could serve it easily to everyone. I sampled both pizzas. The cheese was done well and the shrimp pizza was delicious. The garlic taste was a little strong but the shrimp and the rest of the ingredients blended nicely together. We got our check and continued to talk and sit there for a while and no one really rushed us out which was nice. It is a rare occasion for us to be able to be together and those extra minutes after our meal was special.

Went back the other day and this time the service was what I expected. Our meals, 4 of them, were served at the same time and hot. Every one was happy with what they ordered and over all we left with full stomachs and smiles on our faces. What a difference a little service and attention to detail makes. Oh yeah I almost forgot, no lemon in the tea, just how we ordered them. ;-)

  • Amy P.

So I went for lunch and as always the food was good, but there were some definite issues. For one I ordered a sweet tea, and the server gave me a raspberry tea. It's fine if you don't have sweet tea, but tell me and don't substitute without telling me. Two, he brought the saddest salad ever drowned in their italian dressing. Third, the main course took FOREVER. And I didn't even get a "let me check on that for you" or a "Sorry it took so long". I know that I am by myself, but c'mon put a little effort into it. The pizza was good as always and the bread awesome.

Well it's a Bertucci's so you pretty much know what you are going to get, good pizza, great rolls, and chain style Italian food of a slightly higher quality. I have a bit of a soft for Bertucci's as my family used to always get rolls from their for everything.. This location is pretty clean, and has always given good service. The prices are pretty average and the food has always been consistently good. You aren't going to leave dreaming about it, but if you are nearby and just want a brick oven pizza in a pretty good environment, you could do a heck of a lot worse than here.

Really good pizza here! Nice crust, tasty sauce, fresh toppings. Definitely the best pizza I've had since I last visited New York City. My wife loves their pasta, too. Only 4 or 5 beers on tap to choose from, so expanding their tap beer selection is an opportunity for further improvement. But a nice atmosphere and a nice place. A few dollars more than the more "utilitarian" pizza places in Bel Air, but worth it (there were 4 of us at dinner and we only ate half of each pizza, which means we had an entire large pizza to take home). We ordered one cheese pizza and one specialty pizza. The specialty pizza was really good (the "Pucillo").

Ate there for the first time last night with my boyfriend. It was a wonderful dining experience. My first brick oven pizza! The oven didn't make the restaurant overly hot which was nice since we were bundled to go to a football game. The waitress was friendly and had a great sense of humor. I ordered a side salad which was fresh and crisp - the plate was cold which is a definate plus! We tried the marinated spicy wings for an appetizer. They were very good, but just tasted like yummy, juicy chicken on the grill. Not spicy enough for our taste, but good none the less. For dinner we ordered the Salame pizza with marinated cherry peppers. Total Heaven, sigh. This is the best pizza I have had in ages! The crust was crisp and on the thin side, the salame was sliced thin and easy to chew, the fresh mozerella melted in your mouth and the sauce was just enough to set it off. We had started with marvelous rolls that were hot and chewy and saved just enough of the herb infused olive oil dipping sauce to roll our pizza crust in when we were through. We didn't have anything from the bar, but it looked nice and inviting. Our waitress brought out the food hot and in an efficient manner making sure we had the check with the desert so we could leave when we were through. Great dinner date! Can't wait to go back!

Chainy Italian joints are always hit or miss but this Bertucci's location is pretty much always hit. Took the little one there last night... service was excellent. My lobster and shrimp pasta came out - the lobster tasted a little .... off. It was the first time ever I sent something back at a restaurant. Someones been watching too much Hell's Kitchen, right? After the second bite I was afraid I'd be sick if I ate the plate and couldn't justify dropping $18 on food poisoning. The waitress was REALLY sweet about it, got a new entree out to me ASAP. Which was delish.. overall, a pleasant experience.. same as always.. will go back again when I'm craving their rolls but that's pretty much all I crave and not very often.

Food was pretty good. The first entree I had was not what I expected, so the manager had the kitchen make something different to omit what I didn't like. Kudos the him for making a potential bad experience good.

I haven't had a bad experience here yet. I've come here multiple times, mostly for dinner, but once for lunch. The service is always excellent, and the food comes out hot. They do a lot of little things that you can appreciate, like keeping the plates nice and cold for the salads and warm for dinner. They give you hot fresh rolls with dipping oil when you sit down, and the bread is excellent. They have a full bar inside as well as tables and booths, with plenty of room inside. When you sit down to eat, you get a nice view of the large brick oven. The ambiance is really nice, with good lighting and decor. I'm looking forward to trying the pizza next time I go in. I've only had several entrees, both brick oven prepared and regular. All were excellent. I haven't had anything here I didn't like. I definitely recommend stopping in here.

I had a pretty disappointing visit recently. Overall the food was decent, but was overshadowed by so many issues. At the time of arrival, there was a 25 minute wait and we opted to eat at the bar. 1. The bar was not clean (no other guests were at the bar) 2. There was no silverware and the manager was trying to get employees to roll more. 3. Insect trap behind the bar was placed on glassware. 4. Our seats gave us a view into the kitchen where male servers were fondling female servers. 5. Servers were filling water glasses from the kitchen sink. 6. The same dirty bar glasses sat on the service bar for the entire hour of our visit. 7. Liquor bottles behind the bar had no caps or bottle pourers. 8. Our appetizer tasted good but appeared to be thrown on the plate. The service was decent and the quality of the food was to be expected from a chain restaurant. The lack of cleanliness will keep me from returning.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
